Privacy Policy

SWAPNA Dream Journal ("the app," "we," "us") is a personal dream-journaling app. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and what control you have over it.

Information we collect

• Account information: your email address, used only to sign you in and sync your data across devices.
• Dream entries: the text of dreams you write or record, an optional mood, and the date. These are stored on your device at all times. A copy is also backed up to our cloud database (Firestore) so you can sync across devices — free accounts back up your most recent 30 dreams; Dream Pro subscribers get unlimited cloud backup.
• Voice recordings: if you record a dream by voice, the audio is transcribed entirely on your device using Apple's on-device Speech framework. The audio file itself stays on your device and is never uploaded to our servers.
• Birth date (month and day only): collected only if you use Horoscope Connection, to determine your sun sign. We don't ask for or store the year.
• Feedback you submit: the category and message you write in the in-app Feedback form, along with your account email so we can follow up if needed.
• Subscription status: which subscription (if any) is active on your account. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store — we never see or store your payment card details.
• Basic usage counters: a daily count of AI analysis requests, used only to apply fair-use limits and prevent abuse. This is a number, not your dream content.

How your dream content is used

Most dream-symbol matching happens entirely on your device and never leaves your phone. When you request a Deep Reflection or Horoscope Connection interpretation, the text of that specific dream (plus a lightweight summary of your recent moods and recurring symbols, not full past entries) is sent to our backend and forwarded to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the interpretation, governed by Anthropic's own API terms. We do not use your dream content to train any AI model ourselves.

Who we share information with

• Firebase (Google): our authentication, database, and backend infrastructure provider. Google's privacy practices for Firebase apply to data that passes through it.
• Anthropic: processes dream text you explicitly submit for AI interpretation, as described above.
• Apple: processes all subscription payments through the App Store.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers. The app contains no third-party advertising or ad-tracking SDKs.

Your control over your data

• Export: you can export all of your dream entries at any time from Settings.
• Delete your dreams: you can permanently delete all dream entries from Settings, with a confirmation step to prevent accidental loss.
• Delete your account: you can permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings at any time.

Children's privacy

SWAPNA is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
